Organic Certification Bodies in Canada
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is responsible for monitoring and enforcing the Organic Products Regulations. On June 30, 2009 the Canadian government implemented the Organic Products Regulation to regulate organic certification in Canada for organic products. Certification bodies are accredited by the CFIA to certify agricultural products as organic in accordance with the requirements of the Canada Organic Regime.
