All nominees must be Active Voting Members as of September 15, 2022 - 2 months prior to the AGM.

Nominations close on October 4,2022 - 6 weeks before the AGM.

CHTA invites you to participate in its 3rd annual Recipe and Photo Contests.

Show the world how you use hemp in new and innovative ways.

The competition launches on June 1, 2022 and runs until September 30, 2022.

Original recipes and photos will be judged by a panel of experts and a winner in each category will be selected in mid-October.

The winners will be recognized at the CHTA National Hemp Conference in November and the winning entries will published by the CHTA on its
website and social media channels.

CHTA hopes that everyone who grows, processes, or consumes hemp will participate.

Hemp is one of the most beautiful and versatile crops grown in Canada and we want to show the world just how many ways it can be used.

After months of coordinated work between global hemp industry associations, FIHO finally opens its doors to lead the industry into a new era.

Based on the recent advances and renewed global interest in hemp as an industrial commodity, a group of hemp industry associations worldwide got together to discuss the creation of a global entity with the mission to bring together industry leaders, market expertise, and resources to speak with one voice on hemp issues at the global level and to identify and create opportunities to scale sustainable hemp production, marketing, and trade to benefit the global hemp industry, consumers, and the environment.

FIHO, as a global organization committed to the hemp sector, will work to advance the global production, consumption and trade of industrial hemp and provide an unparalleled platform that promotes research, development and innovation, standards harmonization, regulation, knowledge dissemination, and awareness creation.

Plant breeders, seed companies, and members of the Canadian Hemp Trade Alliance (CHTA) are invited to nominate industrial hemp cultivars for inclusion in CHTA's 2022 National Hemp Variety Field Trials program. Cultivars listed on Health Canada’s List of Approved Cultivars (LOAC) and/or legal research cultivars are eligible for nomination to the program.

“In-field research provides information for hemp growers to compare hemp varieties,” says Ted Haney – President and CEO for the Calgary based Canadian Hemp Trade Alliance (CHTA). “With the assistance of Diverse Field Crop Cluster (DFCC) funding, the CHTA administers this program on behalf of the Canadian hemp industry.”

Health Canada has just published its list of approved hemp cultivars for the 2021 growing season. The CHTA fully supports the regulations in place for the hemp industry and encourages all members to familiarize themselves with those regulations.

The genesis of the Canadian Hemp Trade Alliance’s action to conduct an analysis of market “friction points” was the development of the Strategic Plan in 2017. This new survey delivers on the aspiration to measure progress against the targets set in that plan as well as identify barriers the hemp industry has encountered in its efforts to become a $1 Billion industry by 2023. The following survey analysis outlines steps towards identifying and prioritizing these barriers followed by the presentation of potential solutions to mitigate or overcome them.
