AAFC – Industry-Government COVID-19 monitoring call
June 9, 2021
Noon – 1:00 PM EST
There were approximately 135 participants on the call (lines: 65 bilingual, 65 English and 5 French). Introductory remarks (Tom Rosser, AAFC)
Remarking on this being the 100th COVID-19 stakeholder call, AAFC indicated they are looking at the format and the frequency of the information sharing calls and associated mechanisms to ensure they continue to provide value. AAFC noted that a short survey was sent on June 7th to all those on the distribution list for the calls in an effort to get feedback on the calls, the weekly emails, as well as the functioning of the RoundTable email account. AAFC thanked those who had already responded and urged others to complete the survey before the end of the day , June 11th. AAFC will use the results of the survey to inform our approach to the calls and other COVID engagement mechanisms going forward.
AAFC emphasized that it is carefully monitoring the COVID-19 situation and its impacts on the sector, and is able to quickly shift to increase or adjust sector engagement as needed.
There were no other government updates.
Participants were asked to keep AAFC informed through the Roundtable email account of any situation or preoccupation. The account is monitored hourly (firstname.lastname@example.org).
The next stakeholder call will take place on Wednesday June 23rd, at noon EST.
